Job description:

Reconciles and provides monthly sales tax data for filing, responsible for acquiring and validating vendor tax forms as well as the filing of annual tax reporting to the IRS. Reviews and validates vendor tax forms. Provide management / user support and solutions regarding tax compliance. Analyzes, investigates, prioritizes and implements process improvements that impact the department. Willing and able to lead projects or others as assigned or necessary.

Main responsibilities

• Generates monthly sales and use tax reporting and distributes accordingly

• Obtains and validates W9 and W8BEN forms

• Performs semi-annual TIN matching for our clients

• Responsible for 1099 and 1042S annual review and reporting

• Analyzes and appropriately responds to IRS penalty notices

• Ensures tax compliance

• Willingly attends seminars, training, workshops, conferences, etc.; continually seeks out and shares other resources

• Directly interacts with all levels of management and IT

• Promotes a positive work environment by supporting management and serving as a role model

• Willing to travel as needed

• Work with minimal supervision

• Make decisions regarding daily tasks and seeks input when appropriate

• Further tasks may be assigned within the frame of the profile.


• Degree or additional education

Professional experience / competencies / traits

• Experience with W9 / W8BEN, 1099 and 1042S filing requirements

• Effectively speak with tax and IRS professionals to achieve results

• Well organized, able to multitask and prioritize activities

• Supervisory/management experience preferred

• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP and/or Vertex or other tax software (PC Proficient)

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Products

• Demonstrates ability to analyze and solve problems

• Exceptional communication skills

• Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentially (as needed)

• High degree of motivation, work ethic, and accountability

• Strong understanding of other departmental functions

• Looks for alternative and "outside the box" solutions

• Prior project management experience preferred

• Willingness to assume greater responsibilities and challenges
