The Westminster Operations Center located in Carroll County, Maryland (30 minutes from the greater Baltimore area) has an incredible opportunity for a driven, self-motivated individual to be part of our Operations Services team.
This unique position involves collaborating with people at all levels within the organization in support of our objective to strengthen the world's largest general trade book publisher by having the best supply chain the publishing industry.
Some recent projects include developing distribution network models for $100M fulfillment operation, implementing a new transportation management system and constructing a 190k square foot building.
This position offers tremendous opportunity for growth while learning the ins and outs of the publishing industry's leading supply chain.

A resourceful, detail-oriented individual that is motivated by team success over individual success and has strong communication skills, proficient organizational skills and effective time management skills will be successful in this role.
This specific position involves leading complex operational analyses as well as managing a variety of high profile projects that span all aspects of the supply chain.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
Previous experience defining and extracting large data sets, then analyzing and summarizing the data to present the key finding in a clear and concise manner is a must.
Excellent PC skills including creating and using complex formulas in Excel and/or Access as well as creating data extraction reports in business intelligence tools.
The ability to lead cross functional project teams that span multiple departments and facilities as well as different levels throughout the organization is critical.
Projects range from creating distribution network models and budgeting models to installing conveyance systems and new material handling equipment and require working in the warehouse, developing flow charts, creating and testing system enhancements and training others.
Being able to correlate the project details to the overall supply chain initiatives and business objectives is essential.
Past experiences with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Warehouse and/or Transportation Management Systems and databases are fundamental.
• College degree plus 5 - 7 years of work experience, or equivalent work experience in supply chain, industrial engineering, or logistics
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Ability to lead various size cross functional projects
• Ability to train others
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Excellent PC Skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
• Past experiences with systems (ERP, WMS, TMS, etc.) and databases
• Some travel required
