We are looking for a Sales Assistant/Coordinator to join the Premium Literacy and Diversified channels in Penguin Random House! The Assistant/Coordinator will provide sales and administrative support to the Sales Director and two Premium Sales Managers working with key accounts such as First Book, Scholastic, and top display marketers. Specific responsibilities include:

• Assisting in supporting key accounts with various matters such as providing purchase order statuses

• Researching and building P&L's to use on all potential printing deals

• Curating and maintaining title lists and creating grids to meet ad-hoc title needs for accounts and new business opportunities

• Processing stock and customized orders both from warehouse and through internal production teams

• Assisting with the preparation for sales meetings by creating and updating PowerPoint presentations, confirming agendas, and gathering digital and physical materials

• Attending and presenting at key account meetings

• Creating sales sell-sheets and digital email blasts using various sales tools

• Sending and tracking sample requests

• Working and attending various trade shows as needed

• Providing general administrative support as needed

Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

• Prior office experience; minimum of one year of publishing sales experience to be considered at the Coordinator level

• General interest in book publishing and sales

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments

• Superb verbal and written communication skills

• Proven ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail

• Ability to work well in a team

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Previous publishing or bookstore experience a plus

• SAP, Mailchimp, and/or Salesforce.com experience a plus

• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time via plane, train, and/or car (personal vehicle not a requirement)
