Penguin Random House LLC Sales Assistant - Tri - State Area in New York, New York

This position provides sales and general administrative support to a dynamic team selling Penguin Random House’s core and client imprints within the Premium/promotional marketplace. This Special Markets role reports to the Associate Director and is ideal for someone who is organized, process-oriented, and interested in selling both adult and children’s books.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to all inquiries received via general phone line/email inbox or from Customer Service; communicates with new and existing customers; opens new accounts; and maintains sales contact with existing customers

• Follows orders from start to finish: from initial inquiry to order processing to tracking

• Generally, supports department of sales reps on the following: Purchase order process; order tracking; customer presentations & sales pitches; runs reports

• Provides key support on sales back to Penguin Random House authors and for a major premium distributor

• General departmental and administrative support, as needed

Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work in a team

• Strengths in problem-solving, attention to detail, customer relationship building, negotiating, and other account management related skills

• PC proficiency (Microsoft Office 365) with focus on Excel and Powerpoint

• Interest in the publishing industry and sales, specifically

• Prior office experience and easy access to NY office a plus

The salary for this position is $45,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
