Sales Assistant, National Accounts

Penguin Random House is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Penguin Random House National Accounts sales team. This department sells all client titles, including National Geographic, DC Comics, and Rizzoli, into major retail, digital, and wholesale accounts. The assistant will help effectively streamline workflow for the Books-A-Million National Account Manager, providing sales support in the form of regular and regimented report generation, analysis and tracking. In addition, the assistant will provide administrative support to the V.P. Sales Director. Specific responsibilities include:

• Tracking sales and purchase orders

• Crafting drop-in pitch emails and following up on customer orders for drop-ins

• Creating weekly cuts & buys report and flagging missing orders to National Account Manager

• Sourcing title block releases and notifying National Account Manager

• Produce weekly publicity update submissions to account

• Generate weekly out of stock report

• Create Mass Market monthly buy reports

• Upload seasonal sell-in/title lists to account portal, and create seasonal PowerPoint presentations

• Communicate with publishers to ensure all requisite materials are sourced/prepped for seasonal sell-in

• Enter coop into SAP and maintain coop POS tracking grid

• Capture and maintain notes from meetings with publishers and upload notes into Edelweiss

• Ability to work well under pressure

• Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time

• Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines

• Superb analytical and critical thinking skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
