Product Manager

Penguin Random House is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate Product Manager to own ReadBrightly.com, our home for helping moms, dads, and educators raise children who love to read. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the parenting space or similar, a track record of optimizing consumer-facing websites, a love for actionable data analysis, and proven success working in a highly collaborative agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a deep understanding of the user - both the consumer and our internal business users -as well as the competitive landscape.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a roadmap that meets business objectives and drives key results, while creating an optimal experience for engaging the consumer.

• Define success metrics and track performance to ensure the team and stakeholders are aligned and that the team is moving towards unified goals.

• Work closely with the Content Lead as a strategic partner to further business objectives.

• Work with the design team to create wireframes and designs that articulate the product vision.

• Manage the prioritization of new features and bugs. Synthesize coherent product requirements that provide clarity and focus for the engineers and QA lead.

• Maintain a tight learning loop that leverages qualitative insights from user research as well as quantitative results from testing and analytics in order to continually inform the product development process and iterate for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of product management experience; prior experience working in the parenting space or with children's books a plus

• Strong track record of managing successful web products

• Love for data analysis--ability to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recognize and react quickly to opportunities.

• High-energy, high-touch motivator—desire to constantly driving the ball forward with a bias toward action, next steps and results.

• Flexibility to change direction and find creative solutions as the business environment and technology universe evolves or as issues arise.

• Superior attention to deadlines and deliverables—some might call you "relentlessly organized."

• Ability to communicate effectively with several different audiences

• Desire to understand the multiple systems/databases that power the website and how they interact with each other.

• Experience working with scrum/agile methodologies a must
