Penguin Random House is seeking a skilled and creative Human Resources Manager to oversee the Human Resources function for Arvato Systems US, a fellow Bertelsmann company.

As a global IT specialist, Arvato Systems supports major clients through digital transformations by developing innovative IT solutions, transitioning clients into the Cloud, integrating digital processes and taking on IT systems operations and support.

This exciting and highly visible role will be responsible for leading a wide range of important HR initiatives for the US organization, comprised of approximately 75 employees.

Some areas of focus are developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring positive recruitment and onboarding experiences for new hires, compensation and succession planning, and coordinating executive and high potential employee training programs.

The Manager will also work closely with senior leadership to develop and promote HR strategies for talent management, workforce engagement, and workforce development.

This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position with a 25 hour work week. The position reports to the VP Human Resources, Penguin Random House, focusing solely on Arvato Systems US.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Partners with senior management to facilitate the delivery of HR services and provides updates on processes.

Provides information and guidance on a variety of topics to aid senior management with decision making.

• Investigates and resolves complex employee relations matters.

Coordinates initiatives with the goal of obtaining employee feedback (ex. stay and exit interviews, employee survey).

• Oversees internal processes related to hiring, onboarding, performance management, immigration, terminations and ensures compliance of records and reporting.

Maintains knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws affecting HR and employee issues and works with management and legal to ensure adherence of laws and regulations.

• Maintains a strong understanding of and ensures the efficiency of HRIS system for current and future company needs.

Collects, analyzes, and utilizes relevant KPIs and other key data indicators and reporting. Directs daily activities of the HR team and participates in developing individual and team goals and objectives for the group.

• Relevant Human Resources experience, including demonstrated ability to effectively execute the responsibilities listed

• Knowledge of organizational development and determining, implementing, and refining HR best practices

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ideally including experience with internal marketing and communication

• Knowledge of the IT industry

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to creatively problem solve

• Ability to work effectively with and influence employees across all levels and functions within a complex and evolving organization

• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws

• Prior supervisory experience
