Human Resources Assistant Penguin Random House

Penguin Random House's Human Resources Department is seeking a pro-active Human Resources Assistant to join their team. The Assistant will be a self-starter who will support two Generalists with of a variety of day-to-day Human Resources activities while partnering closely with the Recruitment team in support of the Generalist function.

This is an exciting opportunity to interact with employees across various levels of the company, within publishing-specific and corporate areas, while partnering with various functions of the Human Resources department.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

• Responding to employee questions and policy inquiries

• Assisting with the recruitment process of hiring interns

• Managing HR/HRIS transactions and reports

• Conducting new hire orientation

• Providing general administrative support

• General support of HR programs

• Participating with diversity initiatives

• Ad hoc projects as they arise

• Prior office experience & strong interest in Human Resources; previous internship in HR is a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Flexibility, patience, problem solving, strong communication and follow-through

• Superb attention to detail, ability to prioritize workload, and handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to work effectively in a group
