Penguin Random House LLC Departmental Sales Assistant - Penguin Random House Publisher Services in New York, New York

The Penguin Random House Publishing Services team is seeking a Departmental Sales Assistant. PRHPS provides sales and distribution services to a wide roster of independent client publishers. This assistant will be responsible for administrative support for the PRHPS Client Sales team, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, updating departmental documentation and contact lists, providing sales reporting. This role is ideal for someone curious about publishing, possessing an inquiring mind and the ability to manage several tasks and sets of deadlines at once.

Responsibilities

• Collect and maintain schedules for PRHPS and publishers, including: managing invites, room booking, and meeting setup for weekly/monthly/seasonal meetings; tracking new titles and drop-ins; overseeing setup and management of estimate schedules; monitoring priority titles each season, and more

• Provide regular sales reporting to clients and sales managers

• Distribute advances and sales materials to reps as requested

• Manage gathering and sharing sales rep feedback with client publishers

• Creating, updating, and maintaining documentation about processes and best practices for the client sales team

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work both independently and collaboratively

• Skilled in project and workflow management, including strong follow-up skills

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Self-starter with enthusiasm and ability to take initiative

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience in publishing or bookselling a plus, prior office experience preferred
