Penguin Random House LLC Associate Publicist, Doubleday in New York, New York

Associate Publicist, Knopf Doubleday The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is seeking an Associate Publicist to join their talented team at Doubleday. The Associate Publicist will work independently on titles, as well as have the opportunity to partner with senior staff members on major author campaigns.

Doubleday publishes an array of commercial fiction, literary fiction and serious nonfiction titles. Among the bestselling and prize-winning authors published by Doubleday are Margaret Atwood, Dan Brown, Bill Bryson, John Grisham, Kevin Kwan, Ian McEwan, Candice Millard, Erin Morgenstern, and Colson Whitehead.

Responsibilities:

• Develop publicity strategies and implement successful campaigns for a diverse list of titles

• Responsible for animating authors and their work in the marketplace through all consumer facing channels

• Leverage traditional and digital media to drive awareness

• Produce and manage media relationships and content mailings to media contacts

• Manage a number of Doubleday titles and their campaigns

• Oversee all aspects of campaigns, including media, review coverage and book tours

• Create all publicity materials and maintain publicity lists/contacts

• Help authors understand the forward process of book publicity and promotion

• Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of publicity experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate appropriately across all levels and divisions of the company as well as with external parties

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team

• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs

• Creative, innovative and resourceful approach to publicity and possess excellent knowledge of diverse media outlets
